PROJECT ASSIGNMENT

FIRST TASK (MIND MAPPING)

We need to sketched associated min map, "Creativity in context of Multimedia University." So below is the first mind map.

From this mind map, Mr.Radzi chose creative communication for our focus point.

SECOND TASK (FOCUS POINT)

Then we came out with focus mind map which is:

CREATIVE COMMUNICATION

Well Mr.Halim likes our drawing in this mind map but we're still not succeed the idea of creativity as stated by Mr.Radzi. Our first idea was handphone but they said that handphone is to direct with communication. So we came out with the idea of metaphors, which is compare two things that are not alike in most ways are similar. And thats why our design concept is:-

"SEE THINGS IN DIFFERENT WAYS"

Then we decided to choose three objects:-

PEN (MAJOR)

FLOWERS

CAMERA

THIRD TASK (ESSAY/REPORT)

We had to make an essay of minimum 800 words about the topic that we've chosen.

FINAL TASK (VIDEO'S PRESENTATION)

Story Boards

Before proceed to our video, i would like to thanks for those who helps us during the process of making this project.

And special thanks to our lecturers, MR.RADZI and MR.HALIM.

GROUP MEMBERS:

Nurul Izzati (Leader/Story board)

Nur Shasaqin (Drawing)

Thanks for making this project a good success. Thanks guys !

So below i've uploaded our video. Enjoy ;D

RANDOM ASSOCIATION

DEFINITION

Random Association is an idea generation method to systematically generate new ideas through a fixed formula. The whole premise of Random Association is to use a Random Word to provoke a reaction from the brain.

TASK

Situation/ problem:
To create “SCARY IMAGES or OBJECT” that will instill fear among people through out the ages.

Random words:
Kitten

- Tusk
- Feathers
- Claw
- Ears

Association:
1) Feathers : Hairy feathers.
In practice What might this mean?
People always scared of hairy animal.

2) Tusk : Show that this is carnival animal.
In practice What might this mean?
Most of carnival are very dangerous.

ANALOGY

DEFINITION

Analogy is a cognitive process of transferring information from a particular subject (the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process.

TASK

There is two tasks given by Mr.Radzi and Mr.Halim in class which is to describe something using objects.

Our first task is to describe LOVE using this object, chili.

The deeper our love is, the more pain we will feel it.
Same as chili, when we enjoy eat it, the more spicy we feel it.

The second task is to describe MAN using mortar and pestle.

Man are strong and firm compare to woman just like mortar and pestle which is firm and hard to be broken.

EXTRA TASKS

1) Describe HAPPINESS using clock.

People will done something enjoyment and happiness in their life as long as they have their energetic, same as clock, the batteries give energy to make it function.

2) Describe PAIN using ice-cream.

Human is like an ice-cream. We look fresh and nice when we are in safety place. Nevertheless, will be melting and having pain when we are out of safety place.

3) Describe LOVE using coffee.

The good quality of love is never easily fall to others and play hard to get. A good quality of coffee is expensive and more peoples like it.

HOW MERGERS GO WRONG

Today's task is to merge between two animals but it must be impossible to survive even for a minute. Well it is a tough task even though it may look simple. So after i squeeze my brain, i decided to merges this two animals which is:-

FISH

AND

CAT

AND IT BECOMES:-

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

FISHCAT ?

WHYY ???

So here's the answer.

As we know that fish only can live in the water and cat afraid of water. Okay i know it just a brief answers, so here we go the complete one. Even some people says there is some cats can swim, but we must remember that they afraid of water! So there's impossible that this new species that i created can survive. How they can live if they hate their own habitat.

CAT FABLE: Cats can’t swim.
FACT: Cats are good swimmers, they just don’t like the water.

JUXTAPOSITION

DEFINITION

- A placing or being placed in nearness or contiguity, or side by side; as a juxtaposition of words.
- There's a little conflict between left brain & right brain when you trying to figure out the similarity & differences between this two object.

Verbal & text analogy can be differentiate into two type:-

METAPHOR

- Is a figure of speech in which 2 different things are linked by some similarity.
- Comparison that are obvious are not consider metaphors. Therefore, metaphors occur, when 2
different ideas are being connected in imaginative ways and agreed to be dissimilar at first.

EXAMPLE:

The world is warming and it is foolish to pretend that it's not.
(Lonnie Thompson)

SIMILES

- A figure of speech in which two fundamentally unlike things are explicitly compared, usually in a phrase introduced by as or like.

EXAMPLE:

  • Life is like an onion: You peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep.
    (Carl Sandburg)

Categories of analogies:-

LOGICAL ANALOGIES
Logical analogies are analogies, which use similarities in the design, structure or function of to connect back to the subject.

AFFECTIVE ANALOGIES
Affective analogies are the emotional resemblance. The clearest

TASK

For this task, Mr.Radzi asked us to choose three numbers between 00-99.

So i choose 10, 96, 78

1) There is a number for each word, and the combination of my number results as below:-

10 - flower & head.
96 - leaf & spider.
78 - dog & wood.

2) The next step is to make a sentences using the combination of the words.

3) And the last step is to create and illustrate the image of the new word.

So the result of the image is come out as shown below.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

10 - flower & head.

(1)

+
FLOWER AND HEAD

(2)

I put a flower on your head.

(3)

FLOWERHEAD

96 - leaf & spider.

(1)

+
LEAF AND SPIDER

(2)

A smooth wind makes that leaf moving towards spider.

(3)

LEAFSPIDER

78 - dog & wood.

(1)

+
DOG AND WOOD

(2)

My dog is playing with that wood.

(3)

DOGWOOD
